Emergency Shield

An active ability found on Guardian Helmets. Takes the place of the Helmet slot, which by default is bound to "D" key.



Emergency Shield
Energy Cost 0 Provides an Emergency Shield for up to 5 allies within a 5m radius around you, absorbing damage (before resistances) based on their current health for the next 3s.

Cleanses all damage over time effects

Health: Above 40% | Below 40%

Shield: 1090 | 545

Cast Time instant
Range self
Cooldown 40s

Emergency Shield is still one of the most used helmet abilities in the game. It can be used through entire fights, providing huge sustain. To make using it more strategic, the shield is now only at full strength for targets below 40% health. This reduces its average strength, while keeping it as a strong save for low-health allies.

Energy Shield's combination of survivability and energy sustain was excessive. Its duration has been reduced, making activation timing more important.

  • Energy Shield (Scholar Cowl):
    • Duration: 5s → 4s
  • Emergency Shield (Guardian Helmet):
    • Shield value now depends on an ally's remaining health:
    • Health below 40%: 300 → 300 (unchanged)
    • Health above 40%: 300 → 150

    • Reworked Emergency Heal (Guardian Helmet); it is now called Emergency Shield:
      • Removed the Healing; instead it now applies a shield that absorbs 400 base damage and lasts for 3s (Damage over Time effects are still removed after the rework)
      • Radius: 4m → 5m
      • Cooldown: 40s → 30s
    • Energy Shield (Scholar Cowl):
      • Duration: 8s → 5s
      • Energy Gain on hit: 13.14 → 16
