Frost Staffs

Frost Staffs are Mage weapons that deal high damage and have multiple ways to zone out opponents by slowing them down or completely freezing them. They are unique among Mage weapons for having access to a teleport ability in the form of  Frost Nova. Frost Staffs are unlocked by the Frost Mage node on the Destiny Board.

Once unlocked, the following weapons can be used:

Standard Weapons: Crafted using common resources, these weapons tend to be much easier to obtain than Artifact Weapons.

Artifact Weapons: Require specific artifact items to craft, start with higher Item Power than Standard Weapons, and benefit less from Enchantment Levels.

Abilities

  • Abilities are unlocked as you level up the Frost Mage skill (see the Unlock Table below).
  • First, Second, and Passive slot abilities are common to all weapons, while Third Slot abilities are unique to each weapon and do not have a level requirement.
  • The default hotkeys for First, Second, and Third Slot abilities are Q, W, and E, respectively.

Frostbolt

Energy Cost 11 A spell that deals 243 magical damage, and slows the enemy's move speed by 25% for 4.17s.

Energy Cost 14 A spell that deals 288 magical damage in a 3m radius.

Ice Shard

Energy Cost 14 Drops a big Ice Shard on a ground target. The impact deals 389 magic damage to all enemies in a 3m radius.

Second Slot Abilities


Frost Bomb

Energy Cost 28 Places an explosive frost bomb which will detonate shortly after impact, dealing 462 magical damage in a 5m radius, and reducing the move speed of every affected enemy by 20% for 6.95s.

Frost Nova

Energy Cost 33 Teleports the caster to a ground target position and leaves a Frost Nova behind on the ground. The Frost Nova immediately detonates in a 5m radius, dealing 239 Magic damage and freezing for 1.75s. Frozen enemies can't move or attack.

Frost Beam

Energy Cost 36 Channel a frost beam that slowly freezes an enemy and targets around him, dealing 80 damage per hit, and reducing movement speed by 15% and normal attack speed by 15% per hit. (Stacks up to 5 times.)

Shatter

Energy Cost 22 Creates three areas in a row in front of you, each dealing 260 magic damage.

Freezing Wind

Energy Cost 44 Attack enemies in a cone in front of you, dealing 484 damage and rooting targets for 2.78s.

Hail

Energy Cost 46 A hail of ice comes crashing down in two waves, dealing 364 damage to anyone caught in the area each time. (This damage can't be reflected.)

Glacial Staff


Ice Storm

Energy Cost 70 Creates an Ice Storm which moves slowly away from the caster. Enemies caught in the Ice storm take damage every 0.5s, and are slowed by 15%. (Stacks up to 3 times.)

Mobs suffer 61 damage per second. Players take 137 damage per second. (This damage can't be reflected.)

Hoarfrost Staff


Avalanche

Energy Cost 47 Launch a big, icy rock which grows bigger over time. Every enemy hit will receive 426 damage, and be frozen for 3.48s. Frozen enemies can't move or attack. (This damage can't be reflected.)

Icicle Staff


Frozen Hell

Energy Cost 61 Creates a 8m radius frost zone on the ground, which lasts for 5s. Each second, all enemies in the area receive 67 damage, and are slowed by 75% for 3.04s.

Permafrost Prism


Ice Crystal

Energy Cost 64 Creates a 4m radius Ice Crystal on the ground, which freezes enemies for 1s, ignoring Crowd Control Resistance. Frozen enemies can't move or use abilities. After 1 second, the crystal explodes in a 7m radius, dealing 562 magical damage to players and 772 to mobs.
