General Information

Silver is the primary in-game currency of Albion Online

Silver can be used for everything except purchasing cosmetic items directly

Players can use Silver to buy Gold, the other in-game currency of Albion Online, and Gold to buy Silver

Players can at all times check their Silver and gold balance by opening the inventory interface

Buying Silver from third parties is against the user agreement and is bannable by Sandbox-Interactive

Obtaining Silver

There are many methods for players to obtain Silver. Some of the most common are noted below:

Silver Drops

All the Silver that is picked up from the ground is taxed by the guild the player belongs to

When a player or group of players kill a mob, the mob will drop a certain amount of Silver, which can then be picked up by a specific player or a group of players who killed the mob

If the Silver is picked up by a player who is in a party, all the people in the party in the proximity of the Silver stash will get a share of the Silver.

Whenever a player gets knocked out, they will drop Silver equal to a percentage of the repair cost he will pay to repair the equipped gear

Whenever a player or group of players destroy a chest, the chest will drop Silver on the ground

Treasure Site areas have Silver stashes on the ground

Hidden Treasures drop Silver when destroyed

Bags of Silver

Bags of Silver are not tradable and can either be stored in a bank or consumed

There are different tiers of Bags of Silver which reward different amounts of Silver

The Silver from these bags of Silver is not taxed by the player's guild

Silver bags can be found in chests in random dungeons, as rewards from arenas, and from weekly challenge chests

Though it is not a mainstream method of making Silver, there are plenty of players who are dueling for Silver. The Silver gained from dueling is not taxed by the player's guild. You can interrupt a duel by exiting the orange circle before the duel starts if you feel unprepared for it. However, exiting the circle in the middle of the duel will start a 10-second countdown before you flee and lose the fight

Treasure Hunting

Treasure hunting means roaming through the open world and finding hidden treasures which contain loot that can be sold. The risk depends on the zone the red and black zones being the riskiest, however, the reward is often much better in these zones, the best being in the black zone which comes with a decent amount of Silver as well.

Market Place

Players can buy cheaper and sell more expensive to make a profit. This can be done in the same city or in a different one, the latter method is also known as flipping. For more information see Marketplace


Players can gather items for only an investment of time and sell them at the Marketplace. For tips and guides on gathering see the Gathering


Players may refine resources gathered into refined materials which are used for crafting. This method usually requires a high refining skill to be profitable. For more information see Refining


Players may craft items from refined materials and sell them on the Marketplace. This usually requires considerable planning and buffs, as well as Focus to gain profits. For more information see Crafting


PVP is a way of getting loot directly from other players, which then can be sold for Silver however, there is a risk of you getting killed thus resulting in a negative profit.

Faction warfare

Faction warfare brings loot to players in 3 ways: the PVP loot from encounters with opposite faction players, through the faction points, which can be turned into specific items that can be further sold, lastly you can do transport missions that reward you with hearts of the city you are trading with to sell.

Losing Silver

Players never lose Silver directly from their balance, unless they take an action that will cost Silver

Losing Silver comes as a result of either dying in PvP through the gear loss, engages in crafting, or through the balance change when purchasing goods from the market

Certain actions require players to pay a specific cost:

Building Taxes

The Silver balance may change as a result of paying crafting or refining taxes at the crafting and refining stations. The Cook, Butcher, Alchemist, and Mill also have various Silver taxes.

Repair Station Taxes

Paying a fee to repair gear will also result in a Silver balance change depending on the value of the gear.

Buying Goods

No matter what you buy from the market when you purchase something your Silver balance will decrease according to the price; This also applies to set buy orders as the Silver disappears when a player creates the buy order;

Buying Gold

Players can choose to exchange Silver for gold and vice versa, however, watch out about the fact that gold sells less for Silver than the price you buy it before the price fluctuates.

Buying Premium

Players can opt to buy premium with cash, gold, or with Silver. When players choose the latter, the Silver balance will decrease.

Send In-Game Mail

Sending a new mail costs you 50 Silver.

Losing a Duel

When players choose to duel for Silver they can gain or lose Silver at the end of the duel according to their victory or defeat. If a player abandons the duel his opponent will automatically be considered the winner. When a player gets knocked, the dropped Silver does not come from the player's Silver balance, but as a percentage from the repair costs he/she will have to pay to repair the gear equipped.

9 October 2019Percival Patch 7In an effort to reduce the Silver-to-Gold cost ratio (which has greatly increased due to Silver generated by Randomized Dungeons), numerous ingame Silver costs have been increased.

The following changes have been implemented:

  • Increased repair costs of all items by 100%, but halved knockdown damage (from 10% to 5%), meaning repair cost of knockdowns remains the same
  • Increased Market Order Fee from 1% to 1.5%
  • Increased Market Tax from 4% to 6% (from 2% to 3% with Premium)
  • Increased the cost of buying additional bank tabs by 50%
  • Increased the cost of buying and upgrading islands by 50%
  • Increased the cost of converting Fame to Fame Credits by 50%
  • Increased the cost of using the fast travel feature by 50%
  • Reduced the rate at which Silver offers are generated by the Black Market by 10%
