Version 22.050.1 | 7 March 2023 | Beyond the Veil Patch 5 |
Version 20.070.1 | 5 October 2022 | Into the Fray Patch 7 | With players having adapted to the new playstyle of the reworked Grudge, its damage output was somewhat too high. This has now been toned down. The damage output of Anguished Soul was also too great, considering its utility with the Fear effect, and has been reduced accordingly.

Version 18.110.1 | 13 October 2021 | Call to Arms Patch 11 | Enfeeble Blades was a very underrepresented ability. To give it a more useful role, it has been reworked into a ground target area which purges each enemy hit. Since the Locus is now cleanse-only, Lifecurse Staff can take over the role of AoE purging in large-scale fights.
Version 18.100.1 | 21 September 2021 | Call to Arms Patch 10 | Cursed Staffs are another top pick for the 5v5 Crystal League. With the latest buffs to Dark Matter, the ability has become very dominant in 5v5s. While we are happy to see this ability back in the meta, it currently gives Cursed Staffs a little too much burst damage, which has been toned down somewhat.
Version 18.060.1 | 31 May 2021 | Call to Arms Patch 5/6 & Hotfix 6.1 | Cursed Staffs
Due to player feedback and its additional kiting potential in 1v1 situations, the range increase of Vile Curse has been reverted. The damage increase of the Haunting Screams, which was already gaining in popularity before patch 4, was slightly rolled back as well. Since the damage still cannot be reflected, it will remain threatening in bigger group fights.
Version 18.040.1 | 6 May 2021 | Call to Arms Patch 4 (Balance Patch) | Cursed Staffs
Various underused Cursed Staff abilities were buffed, like Dark Matter and Cursed Beam. The range of Vile Curse was increased to make it more attractive in group PvP, where currently Cursed Sickle is the go-to choice. Armor Piercer is a staple of Cursed Staffs, but the armor shred was a bit too strong, and added too much of a damage spike to fights alongside its long range and short cooldown.
