GvG Training Battles
This is a page based on the original guide by Evoque[1] on the forums.
Please note: This is an early trial version of this system. Our intent is to release it as early as possible to test the system and give guilds the option of training in various settings. As always, we are eager to get your feedback and ideas on how to improve this system.
GvG Training Battles
Introduced during the Lancelot Midseason Patch, players have the option to hold GvG training battles, often referred to as scrim/scrims or scrimming.
What are GvG training battles?
Players can create their own custom GvG practice matches via chat commands, either by typing the names of all players or using pre-selected parties. This will allow newer guilds to build team skills and give more seasoned guilds the opportunity to test out new strategies and builds. Currently, four different match types are available, each with preset rules: Arena, Farmland, Home Territory, and Resource Territory.
To receive an invitation to a custom match, players must first allow them (in Settings → Social).
The limitations on queuing and entering the GvG Training match will be the same as for Arena. E.g. you will not be able to queue from Red/Black open-world areas.
How does the system work?
There are two ways to start a custom match via chat command:
Method 1
Open chat window and type the following:
/cm <playername 1> <playername 2> ... <playername 10> <matchtype>
Notes:
- Players 1 to 5 will be in Team 1, players 6 to 10 will be in Team 2.
- The player typing MUST include their own player name among the ten names.
Method 2
Open chat window and type the following:
/cm <playername from enemy group> <matchtype>
Example.
/cm CryingDevil resources
Notes:
- This method offers more convenience if players have already built their own parties.
- The party of the player typing the command will be Team 1.
- The party that includes the typed player name will be Team 2.
- The player name used cannot be in the same party as the person typing the command.
- This method will only work if both parties are assembled before the chat prompt is typed.
Once all players have received and confirmed the invitation, they will have to channel a spell to enter the match.

Previously, the following behavior occurred:
After Patch 6:
This change is intended to help introduce newer players to combat without item loss (i.e. in yellow zones), and to avoid situations where players were confused about what happened to items. It should also improve the overall loot experience in Elite Dungeons, where a large percent of loot was previously destroyed by being knocked down repeatedly. Item destruction rate and durability loss rate upon death (killed by another player, suicide, etc.) are not affected by this change. |
Version 1.16.393.161355 | 4 March 2020 | Queen Patch 6 | Introduced a feature that will delay players from leaving a Hideout set as "Home" after respawning there multiple times. The effect has a 10-minute cooldown, meaning after 10 minutes without dying and respawning in a Hideout the counter returns to zero.

In addition, Mastery Modifiers have been added to the Mastery Bonuses of high-tier equipment:
This bonus applies to all Armors, Weapons, and Offhands, and includes IP bonuses from basic Specializations as well as advanced Masteries. Enchanted gear will be calculated at the level of its base tier, i.e. T5.0 through T5.3 all receive the same 5% bonus. Sample case: if you get an additional 100 IP from your Destiny Board Masteries for swords, using a Tier 6.2 Sword will give you a 10% additional boost to that Mastery bonus, for a total bonus of 110 IP. |
