General Information

The Journeyman's Broadsword is a Tier 3 Sword which may be obtained by crafting or via the Market Place.

There are two options for the Q spell slot: Heroic Strike (First) and Heroic Cleave (First)

There are two options for the W spell slot: Interrupt (Second) and Iron Will (Second)

There is one option for the E spell slot: Mighty Blow (Third)

There are two options for the passive slot: Deep Cuts (Passive) and Weakening (Passive)

The Journeyman's Broadsword may have different Item Quality ranging from Normal to Masterpiece

The Journeyman's Broadsword Item Quality may be increased at a Repair Station for a fee

25 April 2022Lands Awakened Patch 8Dual Swords had been very similar to many other sword abilities, leaving little scope for them to have a strong, unique role without outshining other swords. For this reason, an attack speed and attack damage buff to the E-ability has been added, to make Dual Swords a strong auto-attack bruiser. The Weakening ability on Swords has also been improved to impact enemy damage output more significantly, giving another useful passive option. The hit detection of Mighty Blow (Broadsword) has also been reworked to only deal damage if the caster lands close to the target, improving counterplay potential against it.
  • Weakening (Passive, all Swords):
    • Max Stacks: 1 → 5
    • Damage Reduction per stack: 4% → 2%
    • Removed the Healing Reduction Effect
  • Mighty Blow (Broadsword):
    • Reworked hit detection so that the ability only deals damage if it lands in close proximity to the target
  • Spinning Blades (Dual Swords):
    • When hitting at least one enemy, the player now gets an additional buff which increases Attack Speed by 50% and Attack Damage by 50% for 5s
    • Removed the additional percentage damage vs players
20 December 2021Lands Awakened Patch 2Mighty Blow offered consistently high value on a low-cooldown E-ability. It was intended to be played as a bruiser that can stay very sticky on a target with constant pressure, however the ability was a bit overloaded with effects on such a low cooldown. The Damage Resistance Buff has therefore been removed.

13 October 2021Call to Arms Patch 11As with the Weeping Repeater, Galatine Pairs were previously nerfed to mitigate the one-shot heavy meta. This has been reverted to make them a notable force in ZvZ again. Crescent Slash has not yet found widespread use since the recent rework. Since it had so many effect possibilities per stack, the additional value of each was set very low to balance this. This was probably too low, however, so the value of 2-stack and 3-stack effects has now been increased.

Various older and rarely-used abilities in this weapon line were overhauled to bring it back into the spotlight. The former mobility increase has been returned to Heroic Charge to help stay on targets. Various E-ability cooldowns have also been reduced to emphasize a more dynamic playstyle. Hamstring has been reworked to consume stacks for an additional effect.

The new Clarent Blade ability, Crescent Slash, has a secondary effect that depends on the number of Heroic Charges. This offers an interesting synergy with the new Hamstring, where the caster can consume a single Heroic Charge. This means Heroic Charges can now be increased or decreased, which allows for more versatility with Crescent Slash’s secondary effect.

  • Heroic Charge (all Swords):
    • Movement Speed & Attack Speed Increase: 9% → 12%
  • Interrupt (all Swords):
    • Standtime: 0.4s → 0.3s
    • Energy Cost: 10 → 7
  • Hamstring (all Swords):
    • If you have a Heroic Charge when casting, you can now cast a followup attack within 3 seconds
    • The followup consumes 1 Heroic Charge and is a ground-targeted 7m leap, inflicting another Hamstring on enemies in a 3m radius
    • Slow Strength: 38% → 25% (but the slow now stacks up to 2 times)
    • Slow Duration: 5s → 3s
    • Damage: 60.15 → 66
    • Energy Cost: 10 → 5
  • Spinning Blades (Dual Swords):
    • Jump End Position now offset by 3 meters. (This means the max range covers less distance for the caster, but also makes it easier to hit enemies without getting too close, making the cast harder to interrupt in midair.)
    • Cooldown: 20s → 15s
    • Max Health Damage vs Players: 6% → 4%
  • Mighty Swing (Clarent Blade):
    • Reworked the ability; it is now called Crescent Slash:
      • Slice the air to shoot a demonic wave in the targeted direction, piercing through all enemies and dealing magical damage. Consumes all Heroic Charges for a secondary effect. (You can only get one of the effects depending on the amount of Heroic Charges, not multiple.)
        • Heroic Charges: 1 / 2 / 3
        • Effects: Slows by 20% for 2s / Silences for 0.8s / Deals additional damage
  • Majestic Smash (Kingmaker):
    • Widened the hitbox of the Smash to make the followup hit more reliable
    • Cooldown: 25s → 20s
