Managing Access Rights

From Albion Online Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

General Information

This is a general page that covers managing access rights for various in-game items that support it as well as locations such as guild and player islands

Access is granted or revoked through roles

Depending on the role players will have certain rights to do actions at a location or with the item it is applied

Different items and locations have different roles

Some have some that others do not which would make sense for that particular item or location.

Roles and Access Rights

Different Roles and Rights
Role Name Supported Locations Supported Items Access Granted
Owner Player and Guild Islands All buildings, plots and items The owner of Player islands is not transferrable

The owner of Guild islands is only transferrable through the Guild leader role (they must be the leader)

The owner role is not actually listed in the access right management UI. It is inherited through claiming

Only Buildings, plots, and items/laborers support claiming (not islands)

Co-Owner Player and Guild Island All buildings, plots and items Can do anything the owner can do, except for change permissions.

Can claim buildings and items if set on an island, granting them owner status of the building or item. By virtue of this, assume co-owners can have all owner access should they claim. Generates an email to the owner that a claim was made.

Builder Player and Guild Island Buildings Can build new buildings on building and farming hard points

Can demolish buildings and farm plots

Can interact with public items only

Visitor Player and Guild Island Can visit the island

Can interact with Public items only

Uncategorized Player and Guild Island All buildings, plots and items By default, has no access rights.

If the player is part of this group via another group but also included in an access role higher than it, they inherit those access rights

If the player is part of this group via another group, but incldued in the access denied role, they are denied all access responsibilities.

Access Denied Player and Guild islands All buildings, plots and items Cannot do anything to interact

This role overrides any other role they may be in through groups such as guilds (i.e. if they are in guild that has visitor access but player name is assigned access denied, they are denied access and not visitation rights)

12 March 2018Lancelot UpdateThe rights management is based on two parts:
  • Creating roles and assigning rights to them
  • Assigning these roles (and therefore rights) to guild members
Guild leaders (or anyone with sufficient access rights) can create guild roles, which include a name, an icon and a color. Once a role is created, rights can be assigned to it at 3 levels: "does not have the right", "has the right", and "has the right and can assign it to others". Roles can then be assigned to guild members. One guild member can be assigned any number of roles, and will have all the rights included in all roles.
