Version 21.030.1 | 9 January 2023 | Beyond the Veil Patch 3 | The Roads of Avalon now feature revamped environmental visuals. These update the look and feel of the Roads to better match the rest of Albion, while retaining their unique identity. |
Version 21.030.1 | 9 January 2023 | Beyond the Veil Patch 3 |
- Roaming Avalonian Mobs and weaker Avalonian Camps have been adjusted in difficulty and reward to work well for 1-3 players. These camps are now marked with a green chest icon on the map, as they were in previous iterations of the Roads.
- Medium Avalonian Camps have been largely left unchanged, but they are better protected from very small groups taking advantage of their rewards, so this content should now remain exclusive to groups of 4-6 players or more. These camps are marked with a blue chest icon on the map.
- Strong Avalonian Camps have had their rewards buffed and should be playable in groups of 7 or more players. They are marked with an orange icon on the map.
- Camps and their chests now respawn significantly faster, due to the new split in Camp distribution across different group sizes. No specific Camp size will see a reduction in available content despite having fewer locations available.
- Mobs protecting chests in the Roads now upgrade as the chest upgrades. Further, when a chest upgrades it will respawn all mobs around it.
|

|

- One-third of chest spawns in the Roads have been upgraded from Group to Raid level (i.e. mobs in these areas have been upgraded from Veteran to Elite); chest rewards increased accordingly
- Focus Fire protection for mobs in the Roads now triggers correctly:
- Champion and below: 8+
- Miniboss and above: 21+
- Avalonian Knight:
- Fixed random knockbacks; Swords now only knockback when getting shot out of the circle
- Shield knockback is blocked by immunities
- Performs more attacks between spells, to reduce possibility of outhealing the damage solo

|
Version 21.010.1 | 1 December 2022 | Beyond the Veil Patch 1 |
Direct connections between Hideout zones redirected to raid zones
- Increases likelihood of raid zones having two separate connections at once
In non-Hideout Roads zones:
- Randomized Dungeon Maps no longer usable
- Static Randomized Dungeons no longer appear in enchanted form
- Increased Static Randomized Dungeon rewards
Resource mobs (Elemental, Dryad, Cougar, Wood Spirit) in Roads now spawn with full charges
Updated behavior of Avalonian mobs in Roads:
- Decreased knockback of Avalonian Monk and damage of the standard version
- Added immediate spell cast to Monk, Warrior, Mage
- Decreased Warrior attack power
Roads of Avalon group portals returned to their 7 charge maximums
Unstable Roads portal in Brecilien party slots increased to 7 to match the group portals
Zerg bubble threshold in non-raid Roads zones increased from 6 to 8
As a followup to the extension of Roads Hideout Grace Periods last week, the spawn rate of Hideout Power Cores in the Roads has been increased by 70%. This is to address the number of Power Cores that currently decay due to not being connected to a Hideout zone.
|
Version 21.000.1 | 21 November 2022 | Beyond the Veil Update |
- The Roads of Avalon have been reworked with new objectives and content balanced for small-to-medium groups
- The types of objectives found in the Roads have been expanded:
- Open-world treasures will randomly appear
- Mobs will upgrade over time if untouched, as they do in the open world
- Crystal Spiders will also be found
- Special regions within the Roads can connect exclusively to other Roads regions that contain Hideouts. These regions offer raid level content and portals that support larger groups. You can also use these regions to launch attacks on other Hideout regions
- Elite Avalonian enemies in the Roads now show a danger icon to differentiate them from regular Avalonian enemies
- Hideouts in the Roads of Avalon can now be declared Headquarters:
- Both Hideouts and Headquarters within the Roads of Avalon will take damage if they have insufficient Power (this requirement only applies in the Roads of Avalon)
- There will be a grace period of several days after the update goes live during which existing Roads Hideouts will not take damage from insufficient Power
- New Hideouts constructed after the update goes live will also receive a grace period of 3 days
- When constructing a Hideout within the Roads, the second and third phases can be skipped by declaring the Hideout your Headquarters, and spending additional Silver and resources to accelerate the building process
- Power Cores will now appear in the Roads, but cannot be taken to and from the open world
- Declaring an HQ in the Roads requires the guild to have at least 1000 Season Points in the current or last season; guilds that already have 1000 or more points in Season 17 are instantly eligible
- Logging out from within the Roads (outside of a Hideout) now requires significantly more time no matter if it was triggered intentionally or by disconnect
- Logging back into the Roads results in damage to gear durability and loss of stacked resources, and will remove the player from the Roads
- This also occurs when the original logout was triggered from an instance like a Randomized Dungeon or a Hellgate if entered from the Roads
- After Maintenance or a disconnect, players will have some time to resume playing in the Roads without triggering the logout consequences, though as with all disconnects characters will be vulnerable for a significant amount of time afterward

- The number of spawned mobs is now more precisely based on the number of attackers, and maxes out at 6 spawned mobs when attacked by 15 or more players (where "attacking" means being on the boss's aggro list):

- Significantly improved the feedback when receiving Faction Points for both the combat log and overhead messages
|
Version 18.010.1 | 25 March 2021 | Call to Arms Patch 1 |
- Reduced the amount of points awarded by killing or knocking out players in Faction Warfare to support points being sourced from other places. We will also be reducing the amount of points coming from PvE activities, but that will come in a later patch.
- As Faction Warfare is primarily a resource-based system with limited quantities of points for players to fight over, the unexpectedly large number of players participating led to marginal gains for individual players. As such, we've significantly increased the points available in the system to better support the number of players participating, and will continue to keep an eye on point balancing in the coming weeks.
- Reduced point requirements for Faction Warfare daily bonuses by 75% (effective immediately).
- Reduced point requirements for Faction Warfare Campaign milestones by 50% (effective at the start of the next Faction Campaign on April 1).
- Made changes to the rates at which bonus points are gained and lost, which should significantly increase the amount of bonus points received in the Weekly Report in some cases.
|

- Caerleon offers 21 entirely unique Faction Ranks, and shares no ranks with the other cities

|

Guilds who live in the Roads can avoid much of the politics and territory warfare of the Outlands, but can also be attacked by any other guild who meets attack conditions during the zone's prime time. |
Version 1.17.403.172369 | 12 August 2020 | Rise of Avalon Update and Hotfix 1, 2 | The area outside the actual Road structure is called the Wilderness of Avalon, and includes forest paths, resource sites, Avalonian camps, and Randomized Dungeon Entrances. |
Version 1.17.403.172369 | 12 August 2020 | Rise of Avalon Update and Hotfix 1, 2 | The Roads of Avalon are accessed via gateways to Avalon that appear and disappear throughout the world. Version 1.16.393.162877 | 25 March 2020 | Queen Patch 8 | With Queen Patch 8, players who are flagged hostile and players who are flagged for Faction Warfare can no longer attack each other in yellow zones. This is to prevent cases where a hostile player knocks down a faction-flagged player who is then executed by other faction-flagged players. Details:
- More specifically, hostile and faction-flagged players in yellow zones are neutral to each other. This means they cannot cast any spells on each other, whether harmful or beneficial.
- Faction-flagged players can still kill and be killed by other faction-flagged players in all zones, including blue and yellow.
- Hostile players in yellow zones can still attack (and be attacked by) other non-faction-flagged players, whether they are flagged or not. Knockdown rules remain in effect for all combat in yellow zones.
- Exception: Hostile and faction-flagged players can attack each other with knockdown rules in unrestricted PvP areas in yellow zones (such as the circled areas around treasure chests). These areas effectively remove the "neutral" status from all players, allowing combat between all players. As with all areas in the game, faction-flagged players can execute players flagged to other factions in these zones.
