  • Adjusted Hellgate spawn settings to compensate for the Outlands expansion:
    • Spawn waves now produce more Hellgates throughout the world (50 → 80)
    • Hellgate Guardian mobs no longer despawn after 29 minutes, and instead remain in place indefinitely
    • 2v2 Greater Hellgates now spawn only in odd-tier red and black zones (i.e. T3,T5,T7)
    • 5v5 Greater Hellgates now spawn only in even-tier red and black zones (i.e. T4,T6,T8)

  • We've revisited rewards for all full-loot PvP Hellgates, and have made significant increases to Black Market loot, artifact drops, Silver rewards, and Fame earned

  • With the launch of free-to-play, the global Silver discount has been adjusted based on a Silver-to-Gold ratio of 2000:1, which allows for lower Silver prices for actions like repairing, buying islands and seeds, re-spec, etc.
  • The "fade to red" effect when health approaches zero has been reduced, giving players a better chance of staying alive at low health
  • All visual quality settings/presets now have "Show Effects" set to "All" by default
  • Premium and Gold stats now appear on the Character Selection screen
  • Changes to dungeon immunity:
    • You cannot get a new "bubble" (immunity to damage and other effects) in dungeons within 60 seconds of last receiving the buff
    • Dungeon immunity duration: 10s → 15s
  • The Undead Knight's spell indication should now be easier to read
  • Reward for "Not a Small Fish" tutorial quest was reduced from 2 Adept's Royal Sigils to 1 Adept's Royal Sigil
  • Tier 7 Earth Elementals found in Randomized Dungeons now only have up to two charges of T7 Stone

Respawn Changes

  • The ability to respawn "in nearest city" is replaced with an ability to respawn "in last visited city"
  • The ability to respawn "at nearest territory" is removed, but you can set any territory tower as a home
  • You can still respawn at a home, however you will lose your home binding when you choose to respawn in "last visited city"

Special Island Move

  • During a special transition period of one month, you will be able to move your personal and guild islands to a city of your choice
  • Each island may only be moved a single time, and the move is wasted if not used during this transition period
  • Islands created after the patch goes live CANNOT be moved - this only applies to islands created before the patch
10 April 2019Oberon Patch 2 / Free-to-Play LaunchAs of April 10, Albion Online will be entirely free to download and play. Existing players can continue playing as normal, while new players can create an account and play the game without purchasing a pack. The Premium system continues unchanged, and Premium status can still be purchased with either real-world money or ingame currency.

General Balance Changes

  • Base Max Hitpoints: 1000 → 1200 (bonus HP from melee weapons remains unchanged)
    • This increases the general Hitpoint pool by 20%
  • Base Max Energy: 100 → 120
    • This increases the general Energy pool by 20%
  • Base Movement Speed: 4.8 m/s → 5.5 m/s
  • In-Combat Duration: 30s → 20s
  • Cap for Auto Attack Max Damage Increase: 200% → 300%

  • 2v2 Hellgates (Black and Red Zones):
    • The loot tables have been buffed, and also normalized: chests will now always contain 1-2 artifacts.
  • 5v5 Hellgates (Black and Red Zones):
    • Loot from the final boss now always contains a Tome of Insight in addition to the regular loot table. The loot table itself is otherwise unchanged.

  • Players can now fight their own guild and alliance members in Hellgates when they appear in an enemy party
  • Yellow Zone 5v5 Hellgates have been adjusted as follows:
    • Fame Factor: 1.5 → 2.5
    • Loot Factor: 1.75 → 2.25
    • Silver Factor: 1.75 → 2.25
    • Improved the loot table for the Hellgate Boss, so that it now drops better loot on average
  • Fixed a loot table bug for chests in black and red zone 2v2 Hellgates - their rewards were sometimes much higher than intended, and should now be in line with comparable Hellgates
  • To prevent solo and duo farming, gatekeepers for 5v5 Hellgates (red and black zones) now use a new spell ("Disembowel") when aggro'd by 3 or fewer people

  • Group Fame bonuses now display in the combat log and floating popup messages. Fame earned now displays as follows: total fame gained displays first, followed by a breakdown of modifiers in brackets (zone type bonus, group bonus, and Premium bonus). As always, the following group bonuses apply to Fame earned:
    • Party of 2: no bonus
    • Party of 3: 17% Fame bonus
    • Party of 4: 33% Fame bonus
    • Party of 5-20: 40% Fame bonus

Hellgate Changes:

  • Greater Hellgates accessed from yellow zones are now full-loot. The item power cap and rewards are unchanged. (Item power cap in these Hellgates stays at 800 IP and everything above is scaled down by 80%.)
  • In addition, a soft item power cap was added to Hellgates found in red and black zones: IP above 1000 is now scaled down by 50%, meaning equipment with a total of 1400 IP would have an effective IP of 1200 in these Hellgates.

  • Split Lesser and Greater Hellgate spawns in red and black zones. Each cluster now always spawns a specific Hellgate type:

    • Outland Low:

Lancelot will introduce a new type of Hellgate:

  • 2v2 Hellgates now appear in red and black zones with full-loot PvP and no gear level cap

Names of Hellgates have been updated for clarity:

  • Lesser Hellgates (formerly Ashen Hellgates), which offer the smaller 2v2 map
  • Greater Hellgates (formerly Ignited and Infernal Hellgates), which offer the larger 5v5 map

Additional Hellgate info:

  • If another Hellgate of the same type is open, the connection rate will be 100%
  • Greater Hellgates will remain in yellow, red and black zones
  • Lesser and Greater Hellgates will have different icons on the minimap
  • Spawn time for all Hellgate Portal Guardian mobs in red/black zones decreased (i.e. they spawn faster and Hellgates will appear more frequently)

  • Reworked Diminishing Returns:
    • Every crowd control effect now has its own Diminishing Return, i.e. stuns only diminish the duration of subsequent stuns, silence only of silences, etc.
    • With this change, slows will trigger Diminishing Returns again.
  • Channeled Movement abilities can now be cancelled by pressing the button again. (i.e. Whirlwind, Hurricane, Block, Focused Run can be manually cancelled)

  • Open world/Hellgate Fame has been increased ~10% (the following multipliers have been adjusted: safe zone/ashen Hellgates - 1.25 to 1.35; yellow zone/ignited Hellgates - 1.33 to 1.5; red zone - 2.25 to 2.5; black zone/infernal Hellgate - 2.75 to 3.0)

  • Hellgates:
    • Changed the layout of Ashen Hellgates, and gave them new lighting and some new graphics to make them more visually distinct
    • Adjusted the layout of Ignited and Infernal Hellgates, reducing the number of chokepoints
    • Spiked Demon's Cleave ability damage reduced by around 25%
    • The Overlord activates the Hellish Firebolt at a further distance, and it travels slightly further
    • Reworked the atmosphere and lighting; each Hellgate now has a separate color scheme
    • Invulnerability on entering Hellgates has increased from 10s to 15s
