Making the template more readable

The template works great (apologies for messing with it prematurely), but is extremely difficult for any other (current) editor to read and understand. Editing the template is difficult because it uses very compact syntax without any comments, and even editing an instance of it on another page can be difficult because of the abbreviations used.

I'm going to create a separate, draft version of the template soon (hopefully within a week), but the main ideas are:

• Remove the single-letter parameter names, as they reduce readability too much for little benefit
• Add comments to explain the syntax--this is especially important for a template that will be used everywhere on the wiki
• Change default parameter values to more common things, making the defaults usable in practice
