Treasure sites were removed from the game with the "Lands Awakened" update, they were replaced with Treasure Chests.

Sealed treasure chest in a Royal Continent Treasure Site

There used to be three different types of treasure sites, the "Treasure Site" which spawned in the Royal Continent, the "Greater Outlands Treasure" and the "Lesser Outlands Treasure" which both spawned in the Outlands. All treasure sites were special areas in the open world within a cluster and marked on the world map, which featured a large central treasure chest which refilled with items at designated times throughout the day. The time was visible by clicking on the marker on the World Map.

Types of Treasure Sites

An unopened Damned Urn with small amounts of silver around it, in a Treasure Site in the Royal Continent.

"Treasure Sites" in the Royal Continent

  • Treasure Sites in the Royal Continent could have spawned in Blue Zones, Yellow Zones, and Red Zones.
  • There was an unrestricted PvP area surrounding the Treasure Site 15 seconds before the chest was accessible. This is identical to all players being PvP flagged within (and for a short period after leaving) the area.
  • The Treasure Chest at the center of the Treasure Site refilled with loot every hour, on the hour, at :00.
  • The chest had a high chance of containing artifacts, crests, city hearts and awarded minor to moderate amounts of silver.
  • There were small silver drops that spawn on the ground that can be picked up, and Damned Urns that can be destroyed which dropped moderate amounts of silver.
  • Damned Sarcophagus spawned occasionally, which were more powerful structures which begin attacking back after a certain amount of their health was lost. The sarcophagus dropped large amounts of silver and had a chance of dropping loot too.

"Treasure Chests" in the Royal Continent

  • Treasure chests can spawn anywhere in the Royal Contient and the Outlands.
  • Treasure Chests activate with a circle surrounding them. This circle activates PvP for all players inside of the circle 15 seconds before the chest opens.
  • These Chests are named "Small Treasure Chest" on the map.
  • Treasure Chests give randomized amounts of Bags of Silver, Tome of Insight , Armor and Runes.
  • These chests give a decent amount of silver depending on the type of zone that you are in.

"Treasure Chests" In the Outlands

  • Treasure Chests in the Outlands spawn in three different types of chests: Small Treasure Chest, Medium Treasure Chest, and Large Treasure Chest.
  • These chests give randomized loot which can give solo players and groups massive payouts.
  • These chests spawn at random times.

"Lesser Outlands Treasure" in the Outlands

Unlike Treasure Sites in the Royal Continent, Lesser Outlands Treasure sites did NOT have silver and Damned Urns littered around.

  • Lesser Outlands Treasure Chests refilled with loot approximately every 2 hours and 30 minutes.

"Greater Outlands Treasure" in the Outlands

More similar to Treasure Sites in the Royal Continent, Greater Outlands Treasure sites did have silver and Damned Urns littered around.

  • Greater Outlands Treasure Chests refilled with loot approximately every 7 hours.
  • There were small silver drops that spawned on the ground that could be picked up, and Damned Urns that could be destroyed which dropped moderate amounts of silver.
  • Damned Sarcophagus spawn occasionally, which are more powerful structures which begin attacking back after a certain amount of their health is lost. The sarcophagus dropped large amounts of silver and had a chance of dropping loot too.

A less powerful variant of Undead Ghost would begin attacking the player after structure of the Haunted Sarcophagus lost a portion of the durability.
